Radio frequency admittance is a new level control technology developed from capacitive technology, which is anti hanging, more reliable, accurate, and widely applicable. It is an upgrade of capacitive level technology.

The so-called radio frequency admittance refers to the reciprocal of impedance in electricity, which is composed of resistive, capacitive, and inductive components. Radio frequency is the spectrum of high-frequency radio waves, so radio frequency admittance can be understood as measuring admittance using high-frequency radio waves.

When the instrument is working, the sensor of the instrument forms an admittance value with the wall and the measured medium. When the level changes, the admittance value changes accordingly. The circuit unit converts the measured admittance value into a level signal output to achieve level measurement.

For continuous measurement, the difference between radio frequency admittance technology and traditional capacitance technology is not only mentioned above, but also includes two important circuits, which are improved based on an important discovery in conductive hanging practice.

The above technology also solves the problem of connecting cables and the issue of hanging materials at the root of vertically installed sensors at this time. The two added circuits are oscillator buffer and AC converter chopper driver.

Installation Instructions

1. Horizontal installation
To ensure measurement accuracy, the RF admittance level switch can be installed horizontally. If the measurement error is allowed within a few centimeters, it is recommended to tilt the equipment downwards by about 20 degrees before installation to avoid measurement errors caused by material accumulation on the probe (note: cable type RF admittance level switches are prohibited from being installed horizontally). For installation in some special application scenarios, protective barriers need to be added for the instrument to work more reliably (see Figure 1).

a. Common types of protective barriers
b. For baffle types with rough or highly abrasive materials

If the tested material level is rough or has high wear resistance, a concave protective baffle can be selected. This type of baffle can allow materials to form a certain accumulation in the groove, reduce the impact of materials on the baffle, and thus improve the service life of the protective baffle.

2. Vertical installation
When installed vertically, in order to avoid measurement errors caused by the angle of the intermediate material pile and the reactance of the container wall itself in cylindrical containers, it is recommended to install it at a distance greater than 500mm from the container wall (see Figure 2).

Please note that:
When selecting the installation position of the RF admittance level switch, it is necessary to avoid measurement errors and even damage to the instrument caused by installation at the feeding port position (see Figure 3).
